One year after announcing its arrival on the electric car market, Xiaomi has not been idle. The first prototypes are expected by the end of 2022. Like most large companies in new technologies, Xiaomi intends to get involved in the development of electric cars. It is already doing so with financial support to Xpeng, but will go beyond that by launching its own brand. The plan was announced in early 2021 and is starting to take shape.Since last year, Xiaomi has set its project in motion and started to structure the company as an electric car manufacturer

In the wake of this sedan, three more vehicles are planned. They will enable the new brand to cover the most promising segments in China: sedans and SUVs in the C and D e segments, with prices expected to range from 21,400 to 28,500 euros.

Things are moving quickly, as the Chinese company has a tight schedule. Production is expected to start in 2024. The first car will most likely be a sedan, with the first prototypes available in late 2022. Last year, the brand announced that it planned to invest a total of 10 billion dollars (about 8.5 billion euros) in this sector over the next 10 years.
