Mercedes-Benz and Geely have joined forces to create the new era of Smart. With the name #1, Smart has changed everything: designs, equipment, batteries, etc. And it starts with his new electric SUV.
The Smart #1 illustrates the brand’s new design. This SUV stands out thanks to its large optics, its doors without frames that offer a very clean style, or its discreet handles.
In terms of dimensions, the Smart #1 is 4.27 m long, 1.82 m wide and 1.63 m high. It falls into the category of SUV segment B. In the trunk, the loading capacity varies between 270 and 411 liters. Good to know: there is a ski hatch and a double-cross to store some objects. A 15 liter mini-trunk is also available, a good place to store the charging cable.
A new high-tech vision
The interior of the vehicle, very modern, demonstrates their new concept: on all finishes, a 12.8-inch diagonal touchscreen with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels.
Obviously, there will be no deadlock on connectivity. The new electric Smart is compatible with Apple Carplay and Android Auto. The car also offers applications: an info-entertainment system, and voice commands. Like a smartphone, the Smart #1 will need to make remote updates (OTA). The vehicle can be linked to your smartphones via a Smart «Hello Smart» app. For example, it can control the charging of the car. You can schedule your charge: you set the charge time, limit and start time for the charge, like that. You can focus on niche markets where electricity is cheaper.
A new autonomy
The new city car can travel up to 420 kilometres with a load cycle. Depending on the finish chosen, it can even go up to 440 kilometers with the Prenium. The car is also equipped with an on-board charger from 7.4 to 22 kW. The maximum power is 150 kW, which allows you to recover 80% of the range in 30 minutes.
Brabus Special Edition
This one promises to be a more than sporty Smart! Quite muscular base with 272 horses, this latest version goes up to 428 horses. It’s 0 to 100 kilometers in 3.9 seconds.
On sale since October 2022, the Smart #1 is available in three finishes: the entry-level Pro+* from €39,990, the Prenium at €43,490, and finally the Brabus edition which is sold at €47,490.
* Pro+ has a panoramic roof, leatherette seats, 19-wheel wheels, induction charger, 12.8 central screen and dual zone air conditioning. Prenium : same configuration with a heat pump, an on-board charger of 22 kW, leather upholstery, a head-up display and an audio system with 13 speakers. Brabus : this finish has a sportier look, air intakes on the hood, red inserts and Alcantara upholstery.
