The electric Renault R5 was announced two years ago as part of Luca de Meo’s “Renaulution”, but it is not yet on sale.

The prototype was presented in January 2021. The goal was to reduce the development and launch time of a new vehicle from four to three years.

The standard model is scheduled for early 2024. Orders will open during this period and deliveries will take place later in the year. The electric R5 uses a new technical base, the CMF-BEV, adapted from the Clio platform.

Development prototypes were spotted in 2022. The car was visible with a Clio body, and the first prototypes with the final silhouette will be unveiled in the coming weeks or days.

The official presentation should take place in the second half of 2023, probably at the Munich Motor Show in September.

The R5 should be offered with a dual battery engine offer and the entry price should be less than €25,000.
