Lotus has started delivering its first electric SUV, the Eletre, in China, and plans to launch it in Europe later this year.

As of January 31, 2023, the brand has received more than 5,000 orders worldwide for the Eletre, which will be available from €97,890 in France. The SUV was unveiled late last year following tests in Germany.

Its technical data is impressive: the SUV is equipped with a 112 kWh battery for a range of 600 km and can be recharged quickly. The Eletre R is the high-end model with a power of 918 hp. With an acceleration time of 0 to 100 km/h in 2.95 s, placing it in competition with the Tesla Model X Plaid.

The brand considers this electric SUV as a key element of its transformation into a global brand of electric cars. The car is also equipped with a LiDAR system to reach a level 4 range.

The Eletre is also equipped with a LiDAR system to reach a level 4 range, in line with the motto of the brand’s founder, Colin Chapman, according to which “Light is right”, since the electric SUV weighs just under two tons in 2023.
