Starting 3 November, Dacia will introduce a new price range for these Essential models. Bad news, all vehicles will be significantly more expensive….
The Dacia Spring, the brand’s first electric car, will cost 1,000 euros more, and it’s not the only one that has experienced such a drastic increase. The basic Duster will also be worth 1,000 euros more. 500 euros added for the Sandero, and 600 euros for the Jogger.
What a shock ! The Dacia Spring will go from 19,800 euros to 20,800 euros. When it was launched in 2021, the Spring was sold at 16,990 euros, or 3,810 euros cheaper. And little by little in 2022, these prices have not stopped increasing : 17,690 euros in March, 18,690 euros in April, 19,290 euros in May and 19,800 euros in June.
Why does one go up ?
It is not the success of the Spring or other models that drives Dacia to this price spike. Due to difficulties in sourcing raw materials, including the rising cost of batteries for electric cars, Dacia is increasing the price of these vehicles to offset these expenses.
Dacia benefits from the ecological bonus
The stated prices are without the reduction of the ecological bonus. It represents up to 27% of the price of the vehicle. For Spring, it’s 5,616 euros in a month with the bonus.
And regarding electric car rental, the Dacia Spring could be worth 0 euro for the first rent of a long-term rental. Starting from 7,846 euros, after a reduction of 5,346 euros from the ecological bonus and another 2,500 euros in the conversion aid.
The Essential equipment
The Essential models, victims of rising prices, have emergency braking, automatic lights, six airbags, manual air conditioning, or the radio with Bluetooth.
