Rivian soon in Europe ? Let us explain

Rivian is slowly pursuing its policy of expansion. Safety and quality is what the American manufacturer wants. He wants to stabilize his situation more before coming to Europe. His arrival will have to be done in particular with the R2 models. 

Rivian has completed its first year of production. This year, 24,337 R1T and R1S were produced for over 20,300 deliveries to their customers. More than a third of these sales were in the last quarter of 2022. The production target was 25,000 copies. Missed by a narrow margin, today the company wants to stabilize its production and finances. 

The American brand did not stop its expansion. He is currently building their second plant in Georgia, which is due to open in 2024. In 2023, the production of a third model, a 4×4. This electric car must compete with the Jeep Wrangler and the Ford Bronco. That name could be R1X. 

Vehicles for the international ? 

All previous vehicles of the brand, R1T, R1S, R1X, were built for North America. If Rivian’s ambition is to expand in Europe, it will be with the creation of a second family of vehicles, the R2. These cars should be much more suitable for European customers. 

Their new plant in Atlanta has to be able to build 400,000 vehicles a year. That’s twice as much as their plant in the state of Illinois. This second family of products will be built in Georgia. These models will have four-wheel drive. There will be two SUVs, and a pickup. 

Scheduled for 2025, the R2 family will finally arrive by 2026. And only then will international expansion begin.
