Can the 564-hp Fisker Ocean compete with the Tesla Model Y? That’s the question CarWow journalists asked themselves. They organized a track race to find out, and the results were quite surprising.
Result: the Model Y won all three races!
And why?
The Fisker Ocean is more powerful, but it’s also much heavier (437 kg difference!). The Model Y Performance, which was used in the race, weighs 1,997 kg, while the Ocean weighs 2,434 kg.
Here are the details of the three races:
- 200-meter standing start:
The Model Y took the lead from the start and finished the race in 6.7 seconds.
The Ocean followed closely behind, finishing in 7.1 seconds.
- 400-meter standing start:
The Model Y again took the lead and finished the race in 12.4 seconds.
The Ocean clocked 12.8 seconds.
- Braking test:
The Model Y stopped from 100 km/h to 0 in 34.3 meters.
The Ocean took a little longer, stopping in 35.2 meters.
The Fisker Ocean is a high-performance electric car, but it’s not yet on a par with the Tesla Model Y in terms of performance. The Model Y is lighter, more agile and has better acceleration.
The Fisker Ocean has more to offer. It’s roomier, has a sleeker design and comes with a number of unique features, such as a power glass sunroof and an air purification system.
Here are a few other details to consider: The Fisker Ocean is available in several versions, including the Extreme, which is the most powerful. The Tesla Model Y is also available in several versions, including the Performance version, which is the most powerful. Prices for the Fisker Ocean start at €37,490. Prices for the Tesla Model Y start at €59,990.
So, which car is best?
That depends on your priorities. If you’re looking for pure performance, the Tesla Model Y is the best choice. If you’re looking for a more spacious and elegant electric car, the Fisker Ocean is a good option.
