A large order from Tesla dated October 2021 has still not been delivered. Hertz, the rental company, received only half of the cars ordered.

Hertz has 428,700 vehicles according to Bloomberg’s annual report. Tesla cars represent more than 11% of this number, or 47,000 Tesla are offered by this rental company.

Last year, in October 2021, the rental agency ordered 100,000 Tesla vehicles. Mostly Model 3, Model S and finally the Model Y. This delivery was scheduled for 2022.

This delay was to be expected, Elon Musk produced a smaller number of Tesla. Despite this large order, Tesla also had to provide their individual customers. As a result, in 2022, Hertz reported that “the ability to acquire vehicles in the expected time is a risk factor.” These vehicles were not settled in advance, the increase in prices must have had an influence on production and order taking. Today Hertz explains that he received only half of the vehicles, a handicap for their business.

Not all leasers impacted

Other rental agencies have not experienced the same fate. This is the case of Movo Car Rental, an electric car rental agency. Located in the south-east of France, they have fewer Tesla models to offer than Hertz but had no trouble ordering them. Tesla Model 3 and Model Y are available for rent for months, to the delight of their customer. If you are also looking to rent this kind of vehicle, go to the Movo Car Rental website.

To remember :

These vehicles are expected to arrive in 2022
Only half was delivered
Tesla was also unable to produce all of its orders due to rising car prices and consumer demand
