This is what the new Volvo EX30, a compact electric SUV, looks like, and it will be officially unveiled on June 7th.

The automaker confirmed this upcoming presentation in a press release, and patent filing images have already been revealed online.

The EX30 is the second model in Volvo’s “EX” family, which consists exclusively of electric SUVs built on a dedicated platform. The first model in the lineup is the EX90. Unlike the EX90, the EX30 is an entry-level model positioned below the XC40, with a length of approximately 4.30 meters.

It will share the same technical platform as the new Smart #1, which offers up to 440 km of range. The images show that the EX30 bears a strong resemblance to its larger sibling, the EX90, but in a reduced version. It has similar headlights and taillights, and a thicker C-pillar due to the presence of only two side windows. The EX90 starts at €100,000, and the price of the EX30 is expected to be similar.

Reservations for the EX30 will open on June 7th in certain markets, including France, but deliveries may take time, as with the EX90.
