Soon your electric cars will be charged in 5 minutes !

Charging electric cars in 5 minutes may be soon, but it’s unfortunately not for everyone.

China has unveiled a new fast charging standard that allows charging an electric car to a power of 1,200 kW.

This is huge! It means that a car could go from 10 to 80% battery in less than 5 minutes.

But there is a catch: this new standard uses a somewhat outdated technology, CHAdeMO.

However, most car manufacturers now use the CCS standard.

China has therefore promised to make its new standard compatible with the CCS, but it will still take some time before this is possible.

In the meantime, drivers of electric cars will simply have to charge their vehicle in 30 minutes or more.
