We first heard about Fresco, a Norwegian EV startup named after futurist and social engineer Jacque Fresco, in 2019 when it presented the design of a new electric sedan called Fresco Reverie. And that’s also the last we’ve heard from Fresco until today, so the company is unveiling a brand new EV that answers to the name Fresco XL.
As the name suggests, it’s an eight-seat MPV/crossover. The XL is extra-large not only because of its size, but also because of its range: the vehicle promises up to 1000 kilometres on a single charge.
The secret is said to lie in its large structural battery. But Fresco has revealed very few details about the batteries. In fact, it revealed almost no information about the vehicle as a whole, releasing only a short video giving a glimpse of what the XL will be, or wants to be. What we do know is that the XL will have V2L (vehicle-to-load) technology, all-wheel drive and two engines, one for each axle. It will also be designed to withstand the harshest of climates, such as those in Norway, where the electric car originated.
