The end of the Zoé! After a career spanning more than 10 years, production of Renault’s electric city car came to an end on March 29, 2024.
Mixed success: 419,908 units sold, far from the initial target of 50,000 per year. Nevertheless, the Renault Zoé is a pioneer. It was one of the first mass-market electric models, helping to develop the market. The end of its career was difficult, squeezed between the Dacia Spring and the Megane E-Tech, the Zoé suffered from competition from newer, cheaper models.
The future :
- No direct sequel: the Zoé will be replaced by the electric R5, inspired by the famous 80s city car.
- An important heritage: The Zoé has given Renault valuable experience in the field of electric vehicles.
The Zoé is leaving, but its story doesn’t end there. It marked a turning point in the history of the electric car, and paved the way for many other models.
