First 100 % electric Tesla truck, the Semi, promises to perform very well. The American brand managed to make an 800-kilometre trip with a full charge. As a result, the range seems to be as good as expected.

After electric cars, charging stations and humanoids, Elon Musk now tackles trucks. Introduced in 2017, the American brand promised a range of at least 800 kilometers. In a few weeks, the Semi will be officially accessible.

Elon Musk shared a few more facts : « The Tesla team has just completed a 500 mile journey with a Tesla Semi weighing 81,000 lbs ! » The electric truck would be up to what the manufacturer had promised. Several companies have already ordered a dozen vehicles : Walmart, UPS, DHL, FedEx, PepsiCo, etc.

These trucks will recover up to 70 % of battery in 30 minutes.  But, it is important to remember, that these sites could potentially consume as much electricity as a small town, according to National Grid Plc.

And these Semi are coming fast. As of December 1st, PepsiCo will receive its order of heavy trucks. Tesla organizes an event with these investors at its Gigafactory in Nevada to celebrate this first delivery.
