Electric cars continue to show that they can do everything like their thermal counterparts, even drifting. And it was in Sweden that the Skoda Enyaq iV RS set a drift record on the ice.

An electric car slides on the ice ? It’s not the work of a stuntman but of a Skoda car. If the electric SUV is not a sports vehicle, that doesn’t stop it from achieving this record in Sweden. On a frozen lake, the Skoda Enyaq iV RS drifted 7,351 kilometres for 16 minutes. With an average speed of 48.69 km/h, the slowest at 31.64 km/h, this is how the the Czech constructor won.

How do you explain Skoda’s victory ?

The range ? The battery ? And no, the key to this success is the tires choosen by Skoda. This record was prepared for a long time, the Skoda team even took 18 hours of drift to choose the right tires for the Enyaq iV RS. In the end, the winning tire combination is the following : at the front, the competition Däckproffssen/Michelin with 600 with 5 mm studs, with Nokkian Hakkapelitta on the rear covered with 300 2 mm nails.
