The design of the Tesla Model Y does not take us by surprise, its minimalist philosophy is still fascinating. The front inherits the main features of the Model 3, but the silhouette and the rear are obviously inspired by its big brother, the Model X.
The cabin is an extension of the Model 3’s work, including the glass roof for all versions. There are virtually no buttons and everything is controlled via a huge 15-inch touchscreen, with permanent internet connectivity to navigate between maps, websites and receive updates without a visit to the workshop. In terms of equipment, the new Tesla is sure to have a wide range of elements, led by the AutoPilot 2.0. The quality of materials used is outstanding, all with the intention of reinforcing its premium character and being able to take the lead in this segment.
The following are some key features of the Y model:
- Two autonomies : 505 kilometers (Great Autonomy) and 480 kilometers (Performance)
- A trunk of 1925 liters
- A 77 kWh battery
- Two power ratings : 351 horsepower (High Autonomy) and 462 horsepower (Performance)
The Tesla Model Y range consists of four versions. The most affordable, priced at $39,000, will be the last to arrive, its launch date is scheduled for spring 2021. The other versions, priced between $47,000 and $60,000, were delivered in the fall of 2020.
