Be Charge, a major charging station operator in Italy and a subsidiary of the oil company Eni since 2021, has just secured funding exceeding 100 million euros to expand its operations in eight European countries by 2025.

This budget, funded equally by the European Union and Cassa Depositi e Prestiti (CDP), a credit institution controlled 80% by the Italian Ministry of Economy and Finance, will enable Be Charge to implement its ambitious project. The targeted countries for expansion include Italy, Spain, Austria, Germany, Portugal, Slovenia, Greece, and France.

Be Charge’s objective is to install over 2,000 fast chargers with a minimum power of 150 kW along the major European transportation routes within the next two years. This initiative aims to support the rapid deployment of charging infrastructure, reassure consumers, encourage them to charge their electric vehicles throughout the European Union, and promote electromobility, as highlighted by Adina Vălean, the European Commissioner for Transport.
