With the ecological bonus changing, Volkswagen took the opportunity to increase the price of ID.3.
As you know, the ecological bonus will change as of January 1, 2023. While Volkswagen has just announced a new « restyled » version of ID.3, they took the opportunity to increase its price.
Like Renault and Dacia, because of the shortage of semi-conductors*, the brand was forced to raise the prices of its cars. The ID.3 is available in a single finish, the Active that comes with : 18-inch wheels, headlights and LED lights, 10-inch touchscreen, heated seats or rear-view camera, etc.
* essential material to create an electric car's batteries.
The Active offers two technical configurations : Pro S or Pro Performance, both with 204 horsepower. Pro S has a range of 556 kilometers with a battery of 77 kilowatt-hours. The Pro Performance has a 58-kilowatt-hour battery for a range of 424 kilometres.
ID.3 : an electric car with rising prices
Instead of €44,990, the Active Pro Performance has been increased to €46,100. But Volkswagen explains that this choice was made in correlation with the new ecological bonus. Previously, €6,000 was available for electric cars up to €45,000. Now the threshold has been raised : now €6,000 are available for vehicles sold up to €47,000. The German brand has therefore made the wise choice to increase the price of the vehicle, to keep the maximum ecological bonus. Renault did the same with its new electric Mégane.
The Active Pro S, is accessible from 49 100 €, the aid is 2 000 € maximum until 31 December. Starting next month, on this version, the bonus will be much lower.
To remember : ID.3 becomes more expensive It is available in two configurations: Active Pro performance and Active Pro S Pro Performance goes from €44,990 to €46,100 Active Pro S remains at €49,100 The price increases due to the ecological bonus Starting in January, the €6,000 bonus will be available for cars up to €47,000 It is beneficial for Volkswagen to increase the price of its vehicle while helping the customer
