Kia has surprised us with a high-performance version of its new electric car, the EV6. Called the EV6 GT, this range-topping model features an all-wheel-drive powertrain with front and rear electric motors that produce a total of 577 horsepower and 750 Nm. Kia’s performance claims for the GT are impressive: a sprint to 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds and a top speed of 260 km/h. It also features software that is said to to mimic the behavior of a limited-slip differential.
The GT looks a bit different than other EV6s thanks to larger wheels and tires and more aggressive front and rear fascias. The seats look sporty and aggressively bolstered. Towing capacity may vary depending on the battery size, but it is estimated to 1600 kg.
The 800V high-speed multi-charging system of the EV6 enables you to find that extra time for things that really matter to you. A quick charge for less than 4.5 minutes would give you 100km of driving range. It takes less than 18 minutes to charge from 10 to 80%.
