Hyundai has presented a new roadmap with increased targets. By 2030, the carmaker plans to sell 1.87 million electric vehicles each year to capture 7% of global sales. To achieve this, the group will invest 14.5 billion euros in electrification. This colossal investment will lead to the launch of 17 electric models by 2030, including 11 for Hyundai and six for Genesis.

At Hyundai, the new electric lineup will include three sedans, six SUVs, a light utility vehicle and a new kind of model. The next step will be the Ioniq 6 Coupe. Expected this year, it will be followed by the large Ioniq 7 SUV in 2024. For Genesis, the offensive will consist of two sedans and four electric SUVs. Expected this year, the electric version of the GV70 will be the first to be launched.

Some of these models will be based on the e-GMP platform, while others will be based on the new Integrated Modular Architecture (IMA). Expected by 2025, this will go much further in terms of standardization. For the battery, the manufacturer is relying on Cell-to-Pack (CTP) technology, which will allow the cells to be integrated directly without an intermediate module. This will simplify the design, reduce weight, and minimize costs. On the engine side, five types of blocks can be integrated into the platform.
