According to the Minister of Ecology, reservations for electric cars at €100 per month will open at the end of 2023.

Almost a year ago, Emmanuel Macron promised an electric car for €100 per month. But this promise has not yet been fulfilled. The Minister of Ecological Transition, Christophe Béchu, announced that reservations for these cars will be open by the end of 2023. However, in reality, deliveries are not expected to begin before 2024.

The government aims to promote cars made in France or in Europe, but the prices of electric vehicles have greatly increased in 2022.

The prices of electric vehicles have experienced a sharp increase in 2022, making things even more complicated. For example, a Spring on a 49-month long-term rental (LLD) currently costs €139 per month, after a first payment of €2,500 which includes a €5,000 deduction for the bonus. However, the Spring is a small city car made in China, while the government favors the made in France or at least made in Europe. In comparison, a Zoe made in France costs €263 per month on a 37-month LLD, with a first payment of €7,500 bonus deducted.

To benefit from the €100 per month offer, one will have to be a low-income household and the number of available vehicles will be limited. The parameters for benefiting from this measure should be set during 2023.

In the meantime, long-term rental is possible at Movo Car Rental. This electric car rental agency offers interesting rates along with a luxury service, all at an advantageous price.
