Ian Callum, former chief designer of Jaguar, has unveiled the Skye, a compact all-electric SUV. This model is the first creation of his own brand, Callum, which focuses on bespoke and limited-edition products.
The Skye is a compact and lightweight vehicle, with a length of 4 meters and a width of 1.9 meters. It weighs only 1,150 kg, giving it exceptional performance. The 0-100 km/h sprint is completed in less than 4 seconds and the range is 280 km.
The Skye is equipped with a 42 kWh battery and an electric motor whose specifications have not yet been revealed. Callum plans two versions of the model: an urban version and a more aggressive off-road version.
The brand is also focusing on exceptional charging performance. The Skye is expected to be able to charge from 0 to 100% in just 10 minutes.
Callum plans to produce 50 models of the Skye in his factory in Warwick. The first prototype will be self-funded.
The company plans to continue to produce other models after the Skye. Ian Callum does not want to be just an agency for other brands. He is convinced that his firm has found its niche: simple but perfectly designed cars.
In the future, Callum plans to manufacture his cars in batches of 1,000 units.
