BYD continues its launch and will soon offer an electric pick-up. After his plan to conquer Europe, the Chinese manufacturer is not ready to slow down his crazy rise.

The pick-up truck, the legendary North American car, is back in fashion around the world. If the big pick-ups of the United States do not leave their country especially, smaller versions go havoc in countries that love this big vehicle. Less bulky, the Toyota Hilux, Ford Ranger, Nissan Navara, or Mitsubishi Triton perform well in terms of sales and rise to the top of the ranking of the best-selling picks. But none of them are electric.

And in view of this failure, BYD jumped at the opportunity to stand out. Geely has done it before with his RD6 Radar, but he won’t be alone soon. No specific features have yet been leaked on the vehicle’s design, but according to our colleagues at Automobile Propre, it should be inspired by the luxurious Yangwang U8 4×4, which has more than 1000 horsepower. With the choice to opt for a separate chassis, the Chinese manufacturer would mainly target professionals with this car.

Unfortunately for the fans of BYD, this pick-up should not see the light of day in Europe. Australia is in priority, having a large market of picks-up, where the sale of electric car remains quite low, but rises slowly. This is a significant market for BYD.

Europe is not a continent known for its pickups, only 100,000 are purchased per year. Roads are less  suitable for this kind of large vehicle. BYD may be one of the first to market its electric pick-up truck internationally.

If you also want to test all kinds of electric vehicles, before buying it test them by renting them. Movo Car Rental, an electric car rental agency with all kinds of models and brands for you.
