After the GTI, GTD or GTE, Volkswagen presents the GTX. A sporty version of their electric vehicles.
But what is GTX* ? “Each ID model will have its GTX version in the future.” As Volkswagen explains on VWID Talk, a forum for owners of the brand’s vehicles, all electric cars will have a sporty variant.
On the ID. Buzz GTX model, the car will have a 204 horsepower engine. Like ID.4 and ID.5, the exterior finishes will be black and red. The brand announced, it will not be sporty, but only a more powerful version. And the range should not reach the 423 km planned.
Selling half a million electric cars?
In addition to offering these new vehicles, the German brand is challenging itself to sell half a million electric cars in 2022. Currently at 366,400 sales, that’s a 25 % increase over the same period in 2021. The only problem, the various shortages. The German manufacturer already has over 350,000 orders on hold in Western Europe alone.
Leading the way are the SUV ID. 4 and ID. 5 to 122,600 sold. And just behind that, the smallest ID. 3 to 45,500 units.
