The American brand Tesla is once again at the center of a scandal. Incidents at one of Tesla’s Gigafactories have caused tensions between the company and its employees.
These employees have expressed their dissatisfaction with the reduction in their bonus. Last year, subcontractors who worked on the construction of the Gigafactory in Texas also criticized Tesla for its lack of safety and failure to pay overtime.
Similarly, recently, employees at the New York Gigafactory announced their intention to unionize. This time, the discontent came from the Gigafactory in Shanghai, China.
The reduction in employee bonuses is related to a fatal accident that occurred in the first quarter of this year. Tesla was held responsible for the death of a welder, which led to a reduction in the safety bonus awarded to employees.
However, employees are also unhappy with the reduction in their performance bonus, as they believe that the factory’s performance is good. This situation could therefore worsen their dissatisfaction in the coming months.
