BMW will change the name of its electric models, all will be composed of the letter “i”.
BMW will change the name of its electric models to simplify them. The thermal and electric models will have the same name, consisting of three digits.
For example, BMW’s future electric sedan, which will be equivalent to the 3 Series, will be called i330. The electric X3 will be called iX330.
The “i” will now be exclusive to electric models.
BMW is struggling to find the right formula to name its vehicles. The brand has already promised to review its appellations to clarify the offer to consumers.
This name change is a preparation for the future, where electric vehicles will be the majority in the BMW range.
